Late Entry into Gubernatorial Race[edit]

"===Late Entry into Gubernatorial Race=== Anthony Pollina announced his intention challenge incumbent Jim Douglas in November of 2007. It was not until May of 2008, 6 months later, that Gaye Symington announced her candidacy as Democrat. Many publicly criticized Symington for entering the race, since Pollina had already rallied support from many prominant democrats including former democratic Vermont Governor Philip H. Hoff. Symington supporters are promoting the fear that Pollina is stealing votes from Symington, which will cause a situation known as 'vote splitting', thus allowing the incumbent to stay in power. However, the facts in this case clearly show that Pollina entered the race six months prior to Symington and was on track to have a campaign supported by united Democrats and Independents."

This section is filled with opinion and unfounded claims. There is no evidence that supporters are "promoting fear" or that Pollina's campaign was "united by Democrats and Independents".

There is no evidence that Symington was criticized by Governor Hoff.

"Failure to Disclose Financial Status and Fake Tax Return"[edit]

"Failure to Disclose Financial Status and Fake Tax Return" It is common for candidates of high office to disclose their family financials. Douglas and Pollina fully disclosed their personal and family financials. This transparency allows voters to know that their candidate has no outstanding conflicts of interest which will prevent him or her from fulfilling their duties as Governor. Symington released only a personal tax return, and refused to release a statement for her family. Later the press discovered that Symington's financial statement was a fake. She has not yet released accurate financials. [7]"

This was not written with a neutral point of view and is not accurate. Furthermore, the erroneous claim that "Symington's financial statement was a fake." has no citation. It is linked to an inactive page.

Syminton has released her financial information, but not that of her husband.

This section should either be deleted or it should be rewritten from a neutral point of view.

Opinion and Rumor -- ??[edit]

A letter to the editor by a random citizen is not evidence of a viable or relavant rumor.

This section was not written with a neutral point of view.

There are rumors about Syminton that are favorable to her and ones that are not. Neither are relavant to a Wikipeida page.
