forest theme[edit]

the article at present makes no mention of the unifying theme of the konigsforst near cologne, which voigt has spoken about at length as being the inspiration for the project (in a wire mag interview from last year). i've created the album pages tonight, but i'll try and expand when i dig out the relevant issue. --Kaini (talk) 23:41, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

heh, one of the articles i've cited is an interview with voigt in which one of the questions is "In your Wikipedia entry, whoever wrote it says: "Because Gas music lacks any trace of melody or chord change, many would not describe it as *musical*." How would you respond to the writer of the article -- and where do you personally draw the line between "musical" and "non-musical," if there is such a line?". lol, a perfect example of the vast feedback loop that is the internets. kinda fitting. --23:59, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Gas vs. the rest of Voigt[edit]

What is the difference between Gas and the rest of Voigt's work? The article has Gas ending in 2000; however, according to a few things[1] he still uses the name "Gas" for live performances and such. he retired the name after pop, pretty much. that is, until the release of the box set this year. and as a followon to that, voigt gave his first live performances as gas this year, mixing gas material in ableton while a big screen projected images of the konigsforst. there's a good review in the wire which i must dig out. --Kaini (talk) 02:59, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...voigt's stuff was very varied (he doesn't release as much now, but in the 90s he had more aliases than aphex...) mike ink was acid stuff, mostly, he had a few minimal aliases including M:I:2 as well... --03:00, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

...and as a final thought, the gas stuff is probably unique in his effort to integrate traditional german stuff, really idiosyncratic things for electronic music like oompah and lieder not only within voigt's stuff but electronic music in general. that's a good interview btw. he's very articulate. --Kaini (talk) 03:24, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"non-musical"[edit]

Can we just take this line out? It's not sourced, it's someone's rather unorthodox opinion, and more importantly, it's just a load of rubbish. Thoughts? tomasz. 13:41, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
