Infobox[edit]

The infobox in this article is pretty worthless, containing only dates and places of birth and death. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 14:00, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Frank PotenzaUncle Frank – Per WP:CommonName. I honestly had no idea what Uncle Frank's last name was until now. The only time a reliable source would ever refer to Potenza by his actual name would be to establish what his real name is; every single mention of him I can find refers to him as either both Frank Potenza/Uncle Frank or just Uncle Frank. Unless it was part of a joke, Potenza was never called anything but "Uncle Frank" or just "Frank" on the nationally-broadcast Jimmy Kimmel Live. A Google search of "Frank Potenza" -"Uncle Frank" turns up nothing related to this person but an image.

Right now, Uncle Frank is a disambiguation page with

  • a link to Potenza
  • a link to a rather obscure musician's nickname
  • an unsourced claim that "Uncle Frank" is a side project of that musician
  • a mention of the obscure Home Alone character Uncle Frank (whose actor was ninth-billed according to IMDb)
  • And an unsourced claim that "Uncle Frank" was a nickname of Frank Zappa.

I'm removing the listings of the side project and the movie character since neither is notable. The second listing refers to a minor musician and the fourth listing isn't sourced. (A quick Google search turned up, for me, Amazon links that don't contain the phrase "Uncle Frank" and just fan stuff.) Uncle Frank (Jimmy Kimmel Live) would also work, but COMMONNAME says there's no way this article should be named "Frank Potenza." CityOfSilver 22:22, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose "Uncle Frank" is very generic, and used everywhere for everything. This obscure character on a low rated talk show should not trump the disambiguation page. 65.94.77.11 (talk) 05:24, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What other notable person uses this name? As for "low rated," that simply is not correct. CityOfSilver 21:35, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This person is not that notable. And he's dead, so the popularity of the show after his death, with the end of all his appearances doesn't matter. It's still a not-that-popular-show. It's third of three shows in its market (first late night talk show). That article is comparing it to the second late night talk show, which isn't what the show is. 65.94.77.11 (talk) 11:46, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
