Cold Blue Steel / James Taylor[edit]

I've put a citation needed tag on the statement that "Cold Blue Steel" is "a ... portrait of her then lover James Taylor's heroin addiction." While there seems to be a general impression that this is at least partly true, it doesn't appear to explain the song entirely, first of all because the lyrics describe the addict as being "black," and more generally because the whole description of an urban addict stealing things to pawn to raise money for drugs probably wouldn't have applied to Taylor when Mitchell knew him (if ever?). 850 C (talk) 16:02, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
