Sometimes, people!

Sometimes flight engineer is called flight planner, I believe. JayKeaton 16:04, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Do you have a source for that? The person dedicated to flight planning is usually the dispatcher (although they're ground crew), and all three pilots perform flight planning to pretty much the same extent. --Scott Wilson 17:28, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

I second the fact that a Flight Planner is not related to a Flight Engineer in any way, different job altogether. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.212.142.40 (talk) 04:39, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Shoulldn't this artilce be considered just a stub (as of this writing anyway)? --angrykeyboarder (a/k/a:Scott) (talk) 21:06, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Is the captain of the aircraft always in charge?

The paragraph on this page about the first and second officers and the Pilot Flying and Pilot Not Flying is ambiguous about who is "in charge" of the aircraft when the PNF is assisting the FE. Is the PNF automatically in charge of decisions because the PF is busy flying the aircraft, or is it that the PNF is usually in charge because it's usually the captain, but when the roles are reversed the PF is still the captain and chief decision maker? 71.190.240.122 (talk) 20:57, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
