Happy Eater?[edit]

On the Happy Eater page it suggests that the game was originally developed for the roadside resturant chain, but of course there is no citation. I've had a brief look on the net and can't find anything to suggest that it was. Does anyone know if this is indeed the case or if there is anything that says that it was. Untitled[edit]

I am almost certain that the game was called Fast Food on all platforms, and that "Fast Food Dizzy" was never its proper name. Look at the box art, for instance.

I'm sure that this is correct too. Both external links also state that the game was called simply "Fast Food". Tim (Xevious) 15:45, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The game was informally known as Fast Food Dizzy, following the other Dizzy series games. At least it was in my playground anyway :)

Fast Food Dizzy → Fast Food (1987 video game) — This game was originally released as Fast Food, I'm not sure if the extra 'Dizzy' (which is the name of the anthropomorphic egg character you see on the cover art) is just a fan name or was added due to later releases, but it certainly wasn't the original name. I think it may have something to do with the presence of Fast Food (video game), but we can disambiguate by years just fine.—Someone another 00:39, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fast Food (1987 video game) → ? – This was moved to its current title in 2010. Given the need to disambiguate it from Fast Food (video game) and the relevant guidelines at WP:NCVGDAB, (year video game) should be the correct name format. However, I do not believe that the game was released in 1987. Unfortunately, different sources give different years: either 1987 or 1989. 1987 sources that I've seen are from two print magazines: Retro Gamer (issue 75, printed 2010) and GamesTM (issue 33, printed 2005), both considered reliable sources by WP:GAMESOURCES. Sources for 1989 include the developers' own website, and World of Spectrum; the latter is not a reliable source in and of itself but does also list several articles from print magazines with none of them dated before 1989. I checked the issues of Crash and Your Sinclair (also both reliable by WP:GAMESOURCES) and both of them do contain reviews of the game in 1989 issues, though sadly neither of them mention a release date.

I see two main possibilities here. The first one, which I favour, would be to accept that the sources saying 1987 are just flat out wrong, and rename to Fast Food (1989 video game). The second is to accept that there is enough ambiguity in the release date that it does not make a good disambiguation term, and use a title such as Fast Food (Dizzy video game) instead (referring to the game's series rather than it's platform since it was released on multiple platforms). Move Fast Food (1987 video game) to Fast Food (1989 video game) and Fast Food (video game) to Fast Food (1982 video game). The developers can be found talking about the history of the game here (at 2:30). Also, you can see at Dizzy (series)#Game Releases that it's very unlikely that the 3rd game in the series was published in the same year as the first (with the 2nd a year later). Finally, the name is not "Fast Food Dizzy" as can be seen on the game box artwork, and inside the game itself (and from the YouTube video where the developers talk about the name).
