Infobox rules for inclusion of relatives[edit]

@Shaan Sengupta: Is there a policy basis for your deleting "names with no wikipedia page" from the infobox? If yes, please provide links and quotations.

I can see why such a policy (if it exists) might make sense for descendants. But I am not convinced it makes sense for people like his great-great-great-great-grandfather (with patrilineal descent).-- Toddy1 (talk) 21:29, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Toddy1 I don't remember when and on which page but a senior editor once reverted my edit saying that we should not add names of the people who don't have their articles since they are non-notable. And yes it was for the name of the son. I think you are right in your second paragraph. Maybe I should have enquired him about this. I did what I was told once. You can revert if it's wrong. I leave it to you to decide. Because you are much experienced. Anyways my suggestion is that we can keep away those name as they are mentioned in the family tree image. Articles on cities often have a section with a title like "Notable people" (for instance: Faizabad#Notable people). We do not allow the addition of names to such sections if there is no article associated with those names.-- Toddy1 (talk) 11:52, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
