Added Sections[edit]

I have added sections on description, geographic range, habitat, food resources, life history, mating, and interactions with humans and livestock. Owen Guo (talk) 04:49, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Modification (19 Mar. 2024)[edit]

The majority of my edits were grammatical, and I italicized the beetle's scientific name whenever I saw it hadn't been. Overall, I thought this was a quality article, particularly for how the information was presented in a way easily read by uninformed readers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tommytrope (talkcontribs) 19:52, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review[edit]

The information included in this page is easy to follow and covers many topics broadly. I think the page would benefit from taking the time to delve deeper into these many different topics. For instance, this article discussed mating behaviors very briefly, so I went into more depth on the male-male interactions that occur when fighting for mates. The presence of a horn on this beetle is a unique feature so adding more information about this trait was valuable in explaining the behaviors it engages in during male competitions. I added another reference when discussing this new information. I also added a link to explain the term sexual ornament for readers so that they can reference it to get a quick definition which makes the article easier to read. The Interactions with humans and livestock section was really interesting, but I think that its subsections can be expanded with more information than is currently present. For example, the subsection on agricultural use provides a nice outline of broad topics without going into more detail. I added more information regarding the impacts of ivermectin on E. intermedius in this section to elucidate the implications of its use in agriculture. I also added links to define and clarify terms like fecundity for readers. I also incorporated links to define and clarify terms like fecundity and fore tibia that are likely unknown to the reader to improve their understanding of the descriptions of the beetle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anushkav18 (talkcontribs) 02:57, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
