Too much a mess to keep in the article

Eternal Records was a dormant and previously unsuccessfull subsidiary label of WEA UK focused on UK R&B/US urban artistes when new A&R manager Steve Allen [Allen was offered his first A&R post by WEA Chairman Rob Dickins working under MD Moira Bellas in June '93] suggested reviving the label as a boutique imprint and home for the dance pop hits he was importing from europe as well as UK sourced dance and pop. Eternal was up and running as a chart force for WEA from it's first signing in the shape of UK artist Motiv 8's 'Rockin For Myslf' which charted at 18 on the UK Top 40 in May '94 quickly followed by Italo-pop rapper Ice MC with 'Bom Diggi Bom' [later featured on the soundtrack of Trainspotting] and the enormous pan european smash 'The Rhythm Of The Night' with Corona, another Italian pop act from the stable of producer Robyx. This record stayed on the UK Top 40 chart for 23 weeks peaking at Number 2 in September '94, gaining Eternal the first of many Top Of The Pops appeareances for the labels artist rosta and helping establish Eternal as the formost euro dance pop label in the UK as the Corona album [reached 18 in UK album chart May '95]spawned more top 5 and top 10 ten hits with 'Baby Baby' and 'Try me Out' and also hit the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 in the US, a rarity for european dance pop but it wouldn't be the last US hit signed by Allen for the label. Eternal released several records in rapid succession in '95, the Espiritu/Tin Tin Out collaboration 'Always' which peaked at 14 in March with another Top of The Pops but achieved number 1 status in Japan, The Outhere Bros with the labels first Number 1 and platinum status single 'Don't Stop [Wiggle Wiggle]' also in March, Corona's Baby Baby came in April reaching number 5 and her album followed with a top 20 placing in May, The Outhere Bros second Number 1 'Boom Boom Boom' came in June, Corona back at number 6 with 'Try Me Out' in July as well as a one off hit for ADAM ft Amy with a hi-energy reprise of Zombie on the chart for 11 weeks peaking at 16, Outhere Bros back in the top 10 again in September with 'La La La Hey Hey' plus their notoriously explicit debut album which proved an embarrassment for Warner with questions raised in the Houses of Parliament was promptly withdrawn. October '95 also saw the release of a modern classic via a collaboration between Eternal and Blanco y Negro when Allen masterminded the re-release of 'Everything But The Girl's' Todd Terry remixed smash hit 'Missing' which spent 22 weeks on the chart and although a platinum seller peaked at number 3 in the UK behind monster hits for Michael Jacksons 'Earth Song' and Coolio's 'Gangsta's Paradise'. The end of '95 saw Eternal Records riding high as new kings of pop in the UK alongside EMI's Positiva and Simon Cowells BMG imprint. Gina G was signed early in '96 with 'Ooh Ah Just A little Bit' which would become Eternals third UK number 1 and another platinum seller in April spending 23 weeks in the UK chart going on to emulate Corona by hitting the Billboard Hot 100 top 10. Gina represented the UK at that year's Eurovision Song Contest final in Norway and released three more top 10 hits from her debut album 'Fresh' over the next 12 months working with Allen's new team of Brian Rawling, Mark Taylor and Paul Barry aka Metro who would later be involved in the career reviving smash hit for Warner and Cher with 'Believe' [alongside song originator and new Eternal signing Brian Higgins]also later going on to win Grammy Awards for their work with artistes like Celine Dion, Tina Turner, Lionel Ritchie, Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias [notably 'Hero']. Higgins moving onto another Eternal signing Danni Minogue before unveiling the unfinished demo of 'Believe' and later emerging as acclaimed writer/production team Xenomania, and masterminding such pop classics as 'Round Round' for 'Sugababes' before creating the 'Girls Aloud' sound amongst others. The Gina G debut album Fresh finally got a release in April '97 going in at number 12 a full year after hitting Number 1 with 0oh Ah delayed due to legal wrangles with her producer. The huge dance pop classic Sunchyme by DarioG was signed to Eternal by Allen early in '97 and spent 18 weeks on the chart that summer peaking at Number 2 unluckily behind the Elton John monster homage to Lady Diana Spencer 'Candle In The Wind' or it would certainly have become the big number 1 of that year, the video clip for 'Sunchyme' was Ivor Novello nominated for best video and helped make 'Sunchyme' a pan european smash hit. Danni Minogue was also signed in '97 releasing her biggest hit to that date the Brian Higgins produced All I Wanna Do in August taken from her first critically acclaimed album Girl although the album fared less well than the single which reached number 4 on the UK chart after receiving masive UK airplay. Followed up by Everything I Wanted in November which charted at number 15. Dario G released the huge World Cup Soccer Anthem Carnaval De Paris in June '98 becoming another pan european smash peaking at number 5 in the UK and still the world's favourite football anthem to this day. The Dario G debut album Sunmachine was released worldwide including the US in '98 the title track of which was released as a single in Sept '98 peaking at 17 on the UK chart. Eternal under Steve Allen went on to have further hits during massive upheavals at Warner Music UK including further number 1 platinum smash hits Eiffel 65 with Blue Da Ba Dee, Black Legend and See The Trouble With Me the million selling Wassup! by Da Muttz and the Holly Vallance number 1 smash Kiss Kiss for London Records (then part of Warner Music) as well as several other top ten hits including a top 10 hit for Holly Vallance with State Of Mind and her the Gold certified album in Japan.
