1926 Open[edit]

He doesn't even appear in the list of entries for the 1926 Open (as given in The Times), unless I've missed him. Suspect it's the wrong year. He seems to have only qualified once, in 1936, but was a pro by then of course. Perhaps a bit like the statements in the same references (also very dubious) about him being related to the amateur John Ball. Nigej (talk) 08:33, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Young Tom Morris was 14 years, 147 days in 1865 and 15 years, 146 days in 1866., compared to Errie's 15 years, 221 days in 1926. So he wouldn't be the youngest competitor anyway. Nigej (talk) 12:00, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
