Untitled[edit]

Erich Schiffmann is one of the most respected names in the United States for his Yoga contributions. The Yoga Journal is a highly respected nationally circulated magazine.

I have noticed a void on Wikipedia when it comes to the topic of Yoga. Please, any other Yoga practioners out there? This topic needs to be addressed in a more complete and accurate manner and more neutral point of view.

I do not agree with the notability tag on this article, but I am a new user and I am still trying to learn the "notability factor" ratings. But being familiar with the topic of Yoga, I regard this article as a valuable entry. KarateLadyKarateLady 23:33, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

KL, when I placed the notability tag, I wasn't casting aspersions on Mr Schiffmann or trying to diminish his accomplishments. I was just indicating that it was my opinion that the article (as opposed to the man himself) did not sufficiently explain how and why he is notable. The great thing about the tags is that they help editors with "new eyes" on an article let others with more knowledge on the subject know that an article needs more. As in this case, it let you know the article needed to be further expanded, you did this and I removed the tag. Please don't take the use of such tags as negative or reflective of negative views of your articles because they aren't intended that way.
Thankyou for expanding the biography and also for adding further references. I feel the article has benefited from the process. Thanks for your effort on these articles, Sarah Ewart (Talk) 12:36, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

J Krishnamurti[edit]

The following statement in the article is a bit inscrutable:

At age 18 Schiffmann sent a handwritten letter to Krishnamurti and was accepted to study with him in England.

Krishnamurti didn't have "understudies" or students. Is it meant that Schiffmann was accepted to a Krishnamurti school? (Brockwood would be my guess). To prompt clarification, the Template:Nonspecific is added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.88.88.127 (talk) 16:38, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
