Recomend deletion. How is this notable? He has a doctorate and wrote a few books. No academic or scientific awards (IEEE Fellow, etc.), no academic positions (Endowed Chair of XXX), no scientific publications. Just a few books. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.104.87.85 (talk) 23:45, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted part that stated "He holds over 20 patents." I can find no record of any patents, and there was no reference. His older biographies stated 'provisional patent applications' and newer bio's of him don't mention patents. All I can assume from that is that his patents were not granted. If someone finds references, please revert. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:1526:4538:C46C:53F1:46A7:AD62 (talk) 16:58, 17 June 2019 (UTC) Just to clarify, by reference, I am asking can anyone actually point to one of his patents? Not just an old bio that says he has patents.[reply]

Agreed, I just checked the US Patent search database and there are zero granted patents for Eric Cole. There is an Eric V Cole who invented some golf related technology, but I am reasonably sure it is not the same person.
