History[edit]

It appears from a couple of sources I have found, including this one [1] (that is probably not usable as a RS), that the college was founded earlier, in 1943 as Florida Baptist Institute in Lakeland. There was a split, which resulted in the establishment of Baptist Bible Institute, which moved to Graceville, Florida in 1953, may have been renamed Florida Baptist College at some time then later Florida Baptist Theological College. Meanwhile, the other fork of the college later moved to Brandon, Florida in 1990. I see bits and pieces of this, and don't want to be accused of WP:OR or WP:SYNTH, so it may take a while before this makes it into the article, if ever. Any help with sourcing and understanding would be appreciated. Jacona (talk) 14:42, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Research is made difficult because there have been quite a number of institutions to use/reuse very similar names over a long period of time. Jacona (talk) 14:47, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Another one..Florida Memorial University was founded in 1879 as the Florida Baptist Institute in Live Oak, Florida. — Jacona (talk) 14:56, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
