An unregistered contributor added the title Founding Father to Benson's article in 2010. However, Benson did not sign any of the nation's founding documents - Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation or U.S. Constitution. Nor did he have a related founding role, such as attending the Constitutional Convention. He did participate in the ratification of the Constitution at the state level, but that is not a "qualifying" role. Also, no citation was provided for the assertion.
