Heritage[edit]

The surname doesn't sound like a typical American surname. Does anyone know if he has any European heritage? /Slarre 11:28, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck! If anyone can find it, we salute them. Every search done made no reference to any other ethnic group other than American. Φilhellenism 05:35, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you happen to be registered with Amazon books, you can view the link that refers to the claim about Adreas Muller. It is an extract of the novel being cited.

If that were a novel, it would be unacceptable, but it isn't a novel. Searching Muller/Mueller Stettinius Dachau yields nothing at Amazon. The claim doesn't make sense. In 1946 he was UN ambassador, then a private citizen. He had no authority to release anyone in Germany, nor would he have had earlier as Secretary of State. (Apparently there was an Andreas Muller sentenced to 1 year 8 months at Dachau,[1] file 295. There was also a hoaxster of that name born in 1630.) So I'll remove it in a couple days if there's no reply.John Z (talk) 07:41, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Successor cleanup[edit]

We need to clean up the successor as UN ambassador. There was an acting ambassador following this man. Should the acting show up in the succeeded by link in the info box, and the two navigation templates at the bottom? Right now they don't agree and the other linked to ones also don't agree.

We need to decide how to clean this up and rationalize it consistently.

Codebook[edit]

"The reasons for this are not clear". They don't need to be? The USSR was an ally. I'm removing the not-so-subtle implicature that the US Secretary of State and former General Motors executive was some sort of closet communist sympathiser. Slac speak up!
