E.N.Buxton - mountaineer[edit]

This article appears to relate to the same Edward North Buxton who is reknowned for his alpine mountaineering achievements and was a member of the Alpine Club. Noted in that context he is identied as "Edward N. Buxton (brewer)" and is attributed as being a member of the first ever party to climb the Aiguille de Bionnassay in the French alps in 1865 - a not inconsiderable achievement (his wit and humour clearly shows in the original account of the ascent given by F C Grove. See references in that article.) See also Lyskamm and Piz Palu and for other first ascents.

I leave this note here in the hope that someone watching this article will take the trouble to check if my strong suspicions are correct and edit the article accordingly. I am sufficiently convinced that I will now link some of the alpine pages to this article. If this person is indeed the brother of Sir T. Fowell Buxton, Bart, M.A., - as seems likely - he is definitely one and the same person. See this article, containing many references to E N Buxton.

With so many failed references on this page, I do query whether the redirect to the article title is both valid or, indeed, helpful. Parkywiki (talk) 00:53, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
