Quote of June Jordan on democracy[edit]

Professor Gault referenced a quote by June Jordan describing democracy in the US. The quote mentioned that we have never had a true democracy in the US before 1965 because large swaths of population were deprived the right to vote. Any consideration of the US as a democracy was due to a gentile agreement among the white population. I am looking for help finding the source of this quote by June Jordan. 100.34.252.47 (talk) 14:20, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know, talk pages on Wikipedia "exist solely to discuss how to improve articles; they are not for general discussion about the subject of the article", so this is perhaps not the best place to ask. I'm not sure of the answer to this, but maybe somebody else can help. — Bilorv (talk) 15:01, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
