Man, what a pathetic mash of Earthsea elements this was. Can someone please explain to me why--WHY--is it so difficult for film and television producers to stay true within reason to great books and simply faithfully adapt them to the big or small screen? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.230.126.184 (talk) 12:01, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It took 2 and a half hours to get enough Earthsea in. I too flinched when the shadow wasn't in the outer reaches, but it was far more cinematic found in the tombs, which themselves were more cinematic than an old eunich tripping in a cave. I'm posting here since I'm going to edit this article slightly, since the plot section describes action in the novels not from the film. 68.151.108.107 (talk) 23:25, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
