The result of the move request was: No consensus - Probably the best way forward here is that suggested by AjaxSmack: expand the article and then come back with a title-change. Expansion of the content may well indicate what the title should actually be. (non-admin closure) FOARP (talk) 19:01, 12 November 2021 (UTC) FOARP (talk) 19:01, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Early history of the Arkansas Valley in Colorado → ? – Cleanup of Template:Inappropriate title, which is currently at WP:TfD. It seems the issue here was that the editor who added the template thought "early history" should start earlier than this article does. They didn't suggest any alternative title, and I have no specific suggestions either. TompaDompa (talk) 03:12, 23 October 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. - That sounds like a content issue and not a naming issue. As "early history" has no timeframe. Gonnym (talk) 09:08, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- My take was that "early history" means early in the historic period and after prehistory. For Colorado, this is the 1700s and early 1800s (i.e., when Anglo hunters and trappers came into the area and before major settlement began about 1859. I will add a bit to the intro for clarification.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:45, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- I am still working on it, but it should be clearer now what "early history" means.
- An option could be to rename the article Arkansas River Valley in Colorado or Arkansas River Valley (Colorado) to 1) distinguish it from Arkansas River Valley and 2) as a step to expand the article to include its history since 1858ish time period.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:51, 23 October 2021 (UTC) ... And, more pre-historic info.–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:51, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Relisting comment it is unclear whether the issues with this article are best addressed by a simple title change, or by a title change and a content change. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 03:15, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose a move per WP:SLFP and User:CaroleHenson's first comment. Expand the article first and then move it. — AjaxSmack 05:17, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Support move to Early European settlement of Arkansas Valley in Colorado. While I have sympathy with the WP:SLFP comment above, it violates WP:ASTONISH to have an article about events in the 18th and 19th centuries described as "early history". Havelock Jones (talk) 09:36, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
