List or article[edit]

Is this really a list?

It seems more like an article with a list IN it. Chaosdruid (talk) 12:20, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Are all these movies Ealing Comedies?[edit]

"British Comedy Cinema"(ISBN: 978- 0415666657) byIQ Hunter and Laraine Porter, on pp 66-69 lists the eight Ealing Comedies, and states the difference between Ealing Comedies and comedy movies made at Ealing.

This is backed up by [1] Again, the eight, with a possible ninth. 197.87.143.138 (talk) 07:09, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

More.. Davy is considered an "Ealing rarity"

I think what's been done with this article is to list every one that has appeared in any list. That seems the fairest solution to me. The Screenonline list says "the 'Ealing Comedies' remembered today sit on a more-or-less fixed list", which to me suggests they're only referring to which ones people remember rather that what counts. There might be a way to signify what appears in what list on this article though, I'll look into that.

I personally don't think "Ealing rarity" means much; it's just a term used by Network to market DVDs of films that wouldn't sell if released individually. Humbledaisy (talk) 13:49, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

poly-Guinness[edit]

Guinness often played multiple comedic roles in the same film (which Sellers would later emulate) …

Did he? I cannot name an example offhand other than Coronets. —Tamfang (talk) 05:15, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alec Guinness on stage and screen shows only The Scapegoat – not a comedy. —Tamfang (talk) 05:18, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
