Demonstrators and others[edit]

EMD Demonstrator GP35s #5652 and 5654 were built in July and August of 1963 respectively. These two units were part of the GP35/DD35/DD35/GP35 Demonstrator set for Union Pacific. Production of GP35s started in October 1963 with Atlantic Coast Line #909-914. EMD Demonstrator #5661 was RE# 1964 to NYC #6155.

See http://community-.webtv.net/ajkristopans/ROADSWITCHERS567/ for serial numbers and production data. --[[--SSW9389 00:01, 26 November 2005 (UTC)]][reply]

There were two L&N GP35 #1101s. The first was built in February 1964 as EMD Serial #28656 on EMD Order #5664. The second L&N 1101 was built in March 1965 on EMD Order #8071. Sources conflict on the serial number of this second #1101. One source has it as Serial #28656 and another source has it as Serial #30260. Both sources agree that it was a wreck rebuild. --SSW9389 20:40, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
