Stumbled across this, seems to be one of the only definitions out there for Dying Gasp. Can't even see it in my Telecomms & Electronics dictionaries. This is a minor feature which is only relevant to DSLAM, so I'd suggest it was moved there.

Sorry, not a Telecomms expert, just stumbled across this term whilst looking at routers.

Please don't remove this page, as it gave me a useful definition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.109.72.19 (talk) 11:40, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

I agree, please keep this article. --14:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.134.6.133 (talk)

Generic Dying Gasp[edit]

This is a good article giving an example of a Dying Gasp notification, but a Dying Gasp is more general than stated. It may in fact be regarded as a standard feature in many situations and using various protocols on various networks.

It is a notification generated by a device (e.g. telco equipment, such as on customer premises, in a street cabinet or otherwise remotely located)(Redacted) 81.128.174.58 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:32, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Last Gasp[edit]

Note that Last Gasp is also used a synonym for Dying Gasp. Suggest that Last Gasp points to this Wiki article, and also disambiguate the existing entry for Last Gasp. 81.128.174.58 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:04, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
