SotN events[edit]

The events of the game "Symphony of the Night" are not mentioned here. They Should be.

Why? Please elaborate. EliasAlucard|Talk 18:59, 18 Jun, 2005 (UTC)

I generated a timeline of all the events of the Castlevania series a little while back, so if you would like to view the article, check it out here: Castlevania Timeline. --Yahweh 05:36, 11 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline?[edit]

The events of a lot of games are not mentioned here, but then again, this page really was not meant to be a complete timeline of events for the Castlevania series...Perhaps one of these days we should make just such a page? I've been working on one for the Megaman games, so maybe it's about time to do one for this series as well? --Yahweh 03:09, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fictional Atheists categorization[edit]

What's the impetus for his inclusion in this category? What makes him an atheist? --BDD 20:37, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dracula believes in God, but perceieves him as an antoganist.

Then he's not an atheist. Postdlf 17:45, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should this be mentioned...[edit]

Should it be mentioned that all of Dracula's final forms (the monsters) look very similar to one in Bram Stoker's Dracula? (The movie and the book) I suppose Dracula can turn a lot of magical monsters, though... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.222.251.34 (talk) 21:08, 31 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

The First Belmont To Beat Dracula[edit]

In the article, Trevor is mentioned as the first Belmont to stop him. However, Sonia Belmont was in fact the first Belmont to defeat Dracula. I believe this should be corrected. Aspect Of Shadows 19:03, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It just occured to me that this might be based on the last timeline that came out (The Xtreme Desktop) which doesn't discuss Legends. However, since this is in dispute, should there be made a note on this subject in the article to reference the different games and protagonists? Aspect Of Shadows 19:26, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Konami has retconned Legends as part of Castlevania's canon, so the official story is that Trevor is the first Belmont to fight Dracula. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 60.48.36.74 (talk) 06:53, 11 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Loosely Based On Bram Stoker's Dracula[edit]

Is it really fair to say that Castlevania's Dracula is only loosely-based on Bram Stoker's character when the Konami timeline says that the events described in the book is part of the game's canon? I understand why it may be considered loosely-based, due to Dracula's actions, but as far the series developers are concerned, their Dracula and Bram's Dracula are one in the same. Maybe that line should be edited out.

Actually, I asked this question over at the Castlevania Dungeon Forums and it would seem as if only a few things from Stoker's novel were borrowed. Lament of Innocence radically distanced itself from Stoker's novel. As far as I know, Konami has never said that Stoker's novel was accepted in total. Starting with Bloodlines on the Genesis/Mega Drive we started to see some influence though (namely in adopting the Morris family). IGA has apparently said he wants to do his own version of Quincy Morris' story that would presumably clear up any notion that Bram Stoker's "Dracula" is canon. Kensuke Aida (talk) 08:38, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, to be fair, the Backstory from "Lament of Innocence" was directly based off the Dracula movie (especially the entire Dracula turn's evil because he lost his wife thing.), But then again, that film made some liberties from the original work.

Fiction perspective?[edit]

Is this warning really necessary? Dracula is a fictional character, in-universe or otherwise. --Arperry 21:39, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vlad Tepes[edit]

Last I had heard, the Vlad the Impaler link to Bram Stoker's work has been largely discredited. There are a lot of details from the real Vlad that would have spiced up the story, but weren't used, and his notes make no mention of Vlad. It is still a remarkable coincidence, but evidence now suggests it is indeed coincidence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.160.5.25 (talk) 15:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Matthius[edit]

Well, the fact that Matthius changed his name to Dracula isn't even mentioned in Lament of Innocense. I believe the fact that they are one in the same may have been mentioned only in interviews, possibly judgement. Anyone have access to the specific source of the fact? So that we can improve the citation.137.222.114.243 (talk) 13:41, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mathias Cronqvist or Vlad Tepes[edit]

If Alucard(Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes)is the son of Dracula then Vlad Tepes must be the real Dracula, mathias cronqvist also appears in one game whereas Alucard has appeard in Dracula's curse, Symphony of the Night, Aria and Dawn of sorrow, Judgement etc —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.71.110.67 (talk) 15:24, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh wait he changed his named to "Dracula Vlad Tepes" when he became a vampire. He was Mathias Cronqvist and then became Vlad tepes — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.71.108.193 (talk) 15:11, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stuff[edit]

Kaguya-chan (talk) 17:57, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When did Koji Igarashi say that Mathias Cronqvist eventually becomes Dracula?[edit]

This claim has no citation and there is nothing in the games to indicate that Mathias and Dracula are the same person. --NetSpiker (talk) 07:53, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
