Ok I'm new to this wikipedia thing, I'm trying to understand how this all works and I see you have flagged a page for deletion Doug Jernigan is a respected and renown Steel Guitarist, I placed a page from Pedal steel guitar with Doug's Bio and Accomplishments, notability his induction into the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame along with information about his abilities for speed picking and versatility of Country, Jazz and Blues. Any help here would be appreciated? In regarding how to include such a person who has contributed so much to the advancement of Pedal Steel Guitar and its distinct sound.Beachbumz 02:28, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Beachbumz[reply]

I am trying to re-submit this Bio and Image I wrote the original Bio, I have listed the origin of the Bio. Please someone contact me to let me know what I need to do here, please don't just delete without some help or guidance I've been two days trying to submit something on a renown and respected Steel Guitarist. Regarding Doug Jernigan

I created the site digndoug.com, also I wrote the Bio regarding Doug, I'm using the image given to me from Doug on his website as well as on wikiepedia. Do I have to re-write the same material over?

How may I re-submit the information without it being deleted and advance to the next process, this wikiepedia thing is hard and confusing.

Doug Jernigan is a respected and renowned Steel Guitarist; I placed a page from Pedal steel guitar with Doug's Bio and Accomplishments citing his notability and induction into the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame, which I citied references.

This is a quagmire! I have spent numerous hours trying to input information about a little known and miss understood musical instrument that most people think to be a redneck honky-tonk device and enlighten individuals that the instrument is more. That the musicians are talented writers, composers etc. especially in Doug's case where his versatile and musical range crosses genre's of Gospel, Country, Jazz, Blues and more!

And is it wrong to include links to his site showcasing his versatile ability that he is noted for?

Will you help me with putting information on wikiepedia regarding Doug and his accomplishments in the advancement of the steel guitar? That's all I'm trying to do, simple as that. It is an injustice not to recognize a person of such notoriety in his respected field of steel guitar. --Beachbumz 15:39, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Beachbumz[reply]

Jernigan does appear to be a well known steel guitarist, noted by the likes of Country Music Television, All Music Guide, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum [1] in Nashville, Tennesses (to name a few).
I have gone through and cleaned up the article a bit to bring it closer in line with our style guidelines, but it still needs some work. I would also like to ask that everyone please be as helpful as possible with Beachbumz; he is a newcomer to Wikipedia who I believe can provide valuable insights on some currently under represented subjects, and is still learning the ropes so to speak. Learning how to edit Wikipedia can be a daunting experience at first, let's do our best to welcome him aboard.  :-) Can't sleep, clown will eat me 20:14, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trying to help this article[edit]

I've added inline citations. It needs a lot of work, but Jernigan is notable and deserves a decent article. Looking at the long quote by Tom Bradshaw, I don't see the point of the quote to justify its being there. ...so he was too slow to play the fast music he was attempting to play? In his later career he was known for his playing speed, but the ironic quote seems negative and misses the mark. Another issue is the "digndoug" in the opening sentence. Is it a nickname? How did it come about? This should be explained or possibly deleted. A lot is still unsourced, including the quote. Eagledj (talk) 15:31, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have been over the article, adding sources and an image. I believe it's coming along. Eagledj (talk) 22:54, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
