This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Text and/or other creative content from this version of Donkey was copied or moved into Cultural references to donkeys with this edit. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

Catalan donkey[edit]

Bit of an oversight not to mention the Catalan donkey even in the 'See also' section. It would make most sense to have a 'varieties' or 'breeds' section and then mention the Burro, Catalan donkey and perhaps wild breeds. I'm sure there are other varieties out there too with pages.

Origins[edit]

Article: "It was domesticated in Africa some 5000–7000 years ago"

Africa is a big place and this statement is prone to misconceptions. The Donkey was domesticated in Northern Africa and the Horn of Africa.
