How to calculate swing?[edit]

I've read the article on Swing(politics), and I'm not 100% certain how to calculated it for 2022.

It looks like it should be the difference between the winning percentage between two consecutive elections. But applying that calculation does not give the numbers that I'm seeing in the other election years. If there's a two-party swing formula, maybe it could be included in Swing(politics)

Value of Swing
Year In Article Calculated
2011 +8.48 +7.88
2014 -0.67 -1.31
2018 -11.83 -18.12
2022 ?? +11.02

It's the average swing between the top 2 parties. It would help if you calculate the percentages correctly (I've fixed this). The Liberals had a swing of +5.12% and the PCs had a swing of +0.16%, so the average of those two is 2.48% (5.12+-0.16=2.48) -- Earl Andrew - talk 02:21, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
