Just browsing through some information when I came across this article. The opening sentence is almost offensive, it is so biased:

Dolores Cross is a celebrated educator and university administrator whose international reputation has been tarnished after she pled guilty to one count of fraud in connection with the mispplication of federal funds provided to Morris Brown College (MBC), a historically black college in Atlanta, Georgia, of which she was president from November 1998 until February 2002.

Is it possible to flag this article for review and clean-up? I'm not a Wiki editor or regular contributor, so I don't know how to go about it. Thanks 66.78.218.2 (talk) 19:25, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, it's a year and half since it was tagged. I came upon the page today, and it had the exact lead as above and no POV tag. I rewrote the lead, made other neutral copy edits, and tagged it as needing more sources. This article is still in need of review, thus I placed the NPOV tag back on the page. Terms like "celebrated educator," "international reputation," and "successful professor and university administrator" need to be toned down or removed to meet Wikipedia's neutral point of view principle. I see what you're talking about. I removed the first two and rewrote some of that, now in retrospect, problematic language. I have kept some comments on her having a successful early career because her work and accolades before the complete FUBAR at MBC objectively supports early career success. --Bobak (talk) 21:46, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, adding sources does not automatically "de-POV" an article. Undue weight on negative aspects of a living person's life is also POV, as is the header "The MBC Problem". I changed the headers to convey the charges and guilty plea as part of her tenure at Morris Brown not all of it. I also removed most of the footnotes from the lead, because 1) the lead should be a summary of cited information in the article text, and 2) five footnotes for a one-sentence lead conveys undue weight. momo ricks 03:34, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
