MKV Extensions[edit]

Are any of these actually extensions to the MKV format? They all seem to be things that should be supported by unchanged MKV, but that are not standardized, and probably don't have widespread player support. Subtitles[edit]

What I actually wanted to know—and haven't found here or on DivX—was something about subtitles, e.g., SubViewer (the page) has a link to DivX, FFmpeg (the software) can read .sbv and even write XSUB. The latter is apparently a nickname for divX SUBtitles. YouTube supports .sbv among lots of other subtitle codecs, but not XSUB.[1]84.46.52.5 (talk) 21:33, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
