Xros Wars not fusion[edit]

This is first and foremost a Japanese series. The original title should hold president over the English dub title. It's intellectually inconsistent with Digimon Adventure, Adventure 02, and Tamers, which were known only as Digimon: Digital Monsters under the Saban English dub. As well as inconsistent with other Wikipedia articles, such as Harry Potter, which lists the first book and movie as the "Philosopher's Stone," not the "Sorcerer's Stone" as it's known in North America. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acdcguy1991 (talkcontribs) 01:52, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First header[edit]

The English title is Xros Wars, as can be seen in the banners on the official sites. It's just pronounced Cross Wars.Shining Celebi (talk) 19:16, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Xros Wars is the official title of the 6th series. --Punk 911 (talk) 03:41, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article is a pile of ****[edit]

Half of the info here is outright wrong. For example, the material released by Toei says that Dorurumon is a free spirit/lone wolf that has no partner, and that Ballistamon is Shoutmon's best bud, also with no partner. Furthermore, it's spelled "DigiXros", not "DigiCross", like in the title.

Honestly, the thing needs to either be deleted, or rebuilt actually using sources, you know, like wikipedia is supposed to.24.13.125.86 (talk) 17:27, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion when the series is so close to starting would be silly, but I agree on it being rather inaccurate. I could take it upon myself to edit it to be more accurate. And yeah, Ballistamon is apparently like Shoutmon's wife at least according to the character bios on the official website. --Robtf (talk) 14:26, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've given the article a good trimming, as information of characters can stay on the characters page and any trivia can remain on an unofficial wiki.Wonchop (talk) 00:02, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Xros Wars Manga[edit]

Hey, should this page include a section on the V-Jump manga of the same name, or should that get its own page like the other manga, since it isn't a direct adaptation of the show? I'm thinking the latter. In which case...somebody set up a page, cause I don't know how. =D IronTurtle (talk) 11:26, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Characters section[edit]

The characters section needs to be cleaned up. It way too long, I propose we first remove XXX's Army since the those Digimon are relative minor characters. This article is not suppose to list every single Digimon that appears in the series. If the Digimon are unnamed or have no speaking lines, they're clearly not very important. Any other suggestions? Feel free to disagree and discuss. - Plau (talk) 10:07, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you. There are plenty of Digimon on that list who should be removed. If they didn't do anything worth being noticed then they should be removed. This is starting to look more like a fansite or the Digimon wikia than an encyclopedia. 追人YumeChaser 23:56, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The Digimon Wikia isn't this bad. I agree with the outright removal of the "Bagura Army" section and recommend the elimination of the Bagura Empire subdivisions (Commanders, Generals, etc.). IronTurtle (talk) 03:53, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This type of content is fine on the Digimon Wikia because it's the Digimon wikia, but this is Wikipedia. I am going ahead and will remove/merge the "Bagura Empire" Section as well as the number of episode appearances. They're excess information. Any other suggestions. - Plau (talk) 08:29, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The Voice Cast section is also listing random nobodies like Gizamon Commander. These characters do make it into the credits, but do we want to be listing them here too, or is it too much? IronTurtle (talk) 07:29, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A bit hard to say, but I think the listing should stay for now.72.184.129.252 (talk) 06:13, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The list should be moved to list of Xros Wars characters, like every other anime does, with a main link at the top of the story section. Also, It's not "Team Twilight", "Team Xros Heart", "Team Blue Flare", and "Bagura Empire". It is always, always, "Xros Heart", "Twilight", "Blue Flare", and "Bagura Army". I don't know where you guys are getting this Team and Empire nonsense.24.13.125.86 (talk) 04:13, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While what you say might have been true at one point, Xros Heart specifically call themselves "Team Xros Heart" (with the word "Team" in English) in episode 27.76.249.20.62 (talk) 17:00, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've given the article a good trimming. Episode info stays on the episode page, Character info stays on the characters page, voice credits stay on their respective articles, random trivia stays on the external wikis. Fair enough? Wonchop (talk) 00:01, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Greymon's VA?[edit]

Where did this info of Naoki Hanawa doing Greymon's VA come from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.204.142.128 (talk) 19:16, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Protagonist - Mervamon?[edit]

Just wondering. Mervamon appeared in the last episode, and said to her brother that he will fight with "us", which insinuates she already considers herself part of Xros Heart, assumingly after the Xros with Sparrowmon. We know she's going to be a main digimon like Shoutmon, Cutemon, and Sparrowmon just from the opening, as she is seen in every group shot. At what point should we add her to the protagonist section? (She'll also make an appearance in the next episode fighting the death general as JetMervamon with MetalGreymon and ShoutmonX4B, as we saw in the preview, which shows she'll be Nene's "base" digimon.) 99.162.156.148 (talk) 03:05, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please omit IMDB as a reference.[edit]

IMDB has proven it's self to me to be an unreliable pile of trash that's even more unreliable than BS that gets past the radar on here 75.84.122.182 (talk) 10:37, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New article?[edit]

Does anyone feel that the upcoming Hunter Boys series merits a new article as a separate season? It's not exactly a strict continuation of the original Xros Wars and it's different from the second arc as that was part of the first series, the magazines state that this is going to be the second Xros Wars series much like 02 was the second Adventure series. 69.132.4.186 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:52, 17 August 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Source of fusion battles being confirmed as a dub?[edit]

First of all I'd like to point out that the page labeled as Digimon fusion battles is http://corp.toei-anim.co.jp/english/film/digimon_xros_wars.php this happens to be the page linked as a souce for the information on the dub. Additionally, Toei uses international names for a good deal of their products, for example Kamen Rider's international trademark is MASKED rider.

Additionally the date on that page says July 6, 2010 which is the date when XROS WARS aired. I've also heard rumors that there was a dub produced in limited screening, I do not know all the details nor do I remember exactly how the rumor went, but it is unlikely and if it did happen it would further disprove a full american broadcast dub.

If you put this all together you can see that fusion battles will NOT be the dub. Bandai of america has clearly all but abandoned digimon as well ( http://www.bandai.com/ has no listing for digimon yet and they still have a listing for kamen rider dragon knight of all franchises...) The two MMOs are also not localized by Namco Bandai. 75.84.122.182 (talk) 20:41, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to add to this discussion that William Winckler Productions has confirmed to myself and multiple others who contacted them, a matter of two-three months ago, that Fusion Battles is in fact the planned international name and that the test screen went exceptionally well... They also said that all they're waiting for is for Toei Japan to get round to green-lighting it for full production. I asked if this was an episodic compilation in short-movie form and they said no, it was specifically for full series production and that it may take quite a long time (all the paperwork and planning, etc...) but that it's more than likely to be picked up and aired on Disney XD in the future.--86.2.6.192 (talk) 05:51, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. We can't use your private correspondence as a reliable source.—Ryulong (竜龙) 07:35, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New page?[edit]

The new series is confirmed to be a new series, so is anyone up to making a page for it? It's strange to keep it on the Xros Wars page considering that 02 and Adventures have different pages. 69.132.11.135 (talk) 21:42, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Adventure and Adventure 02 were different programs. Hunter Boys is merely a third season of Xros Wars.—Ryulong (竜龙) 19:06, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree. Hard. TTHB doesn't pick up immediately where Xros Wars left off; there's a new plot/world structure to deal with, digivolution/digixros mechanics have changed, the cast change is a little more dramatic than between Xros Wars and Death Generals. It's not a third season, it's a third arc that carries into a new season much in the manner that Adventure 02 was. New series, end of.209.106.205.251 (talk) 01:46, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the above user, it is fundamentally different then death generals, and should have its own page.Millertime246 (talk) 02:07, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Japanese Wikipedia does not treat this as its own separate television show, unlike how it treats Adventure and Adventure 02. This is still under the "Xros Wars" name. Under this line of thought, Death Generals would have been considered its own series, too. The only thing that separates Xros Wars and Death Generals from Hunter Boys is a short time skip and a new character. There was also nothing fundamentally useful on the split off page that required its own separate page, particularly because it only had one reliable source. A short summary of what happened between Death Generals and Hunter Boys can be on this page, instead. The only place that is calling it a separate series is Anime News Network, anyway.—Ryulong (竜龙) 02:21, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
True, but if Digimon Hunters is a season rather than a series, than there should had been no reason for a "series promo" to air after the finale of Digimon Xros Wars.Fractyl (talk) 02:41, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is no reason to split it off onto its own article when there was barely enough there to split off. It may or may not be a "series promo" but it is easier to keep everything on one page if they keep calling it "Xros Wars", unlike the drastic differences between Adventure and 02.—Ryulong (竜龙) 03:15, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The end of the 54th Xros Wars episode had a "the end" title card and the promos for it called it a new series, so no, it's not just ANN. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.132.11.135 (talk) 20:11, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Current series name?[edit]

On this page it says "Time Traveling Hunter Boys" but on crunchyroll which hosts the official subtitled version it says "The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time" Notice that it says YOUNG instead of BOY btw, this could just be the international name, however if that were the case, wouldn't that mean that "The Boy Hunters Who Leapt Through Time" is actually correct anyway? What is the source of the name "Time Traveling Hunter Boys" anyway? 76.166.147.43 (talk) 12:51, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Their title is better and things will be changed here.—Ryulong (竜龙) 20:18, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Time Traveling Hunter Boys is the literal translation (shounen only means young in an archaic use of the word), the current title is a much more flowery translation, probably based on The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Toei has the series listed as Digimon Fusion Battles on their international page, so if anything, that's probably what the main title should be changed to. 69.132.11.135 (talk) 14:33, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The future dub name is not important to this discussion. This thread is about the Japanese title of the second season.—Ryulong (竜龙) 22:21, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

english adaption[edit]

when r u going to admit that fusion battles is an english adaption of xros wars? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.227.165.132 (talk) 01:26, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, we must find a reliable source to back up the title's confirmation. Darth Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 05:04, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have discovered that it was only a marketing pitch sort of thing. Obviously it failed. There is no really good reason to mention this aside from maybe confirming that digimon is dead in america. --75.84.122.182 (talk) 09:05, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Warning: New rumor about Xros Wars dub.[edit]

According to Orends, "American voice actor Ben Diskin (Stitch!, Codename: Kids Next Door, Hey Arnold!) revealed that he auditioned for the English dub of Digimon Xros Wars!." They included this image Their sources give about the same info.

I'd like to point out that this is NOT official confirmation and thus any edits to the page in regards to this should be undone, and the page should probably be locked until we get official news on this.

Also it's very possible that this is photoshopped. 75.84.122.182 (talk) 21:43, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Digimon Fusion Battles IMDB link needs to be removed[edit]

I think Digimon Fusion Battles Internet Movie Database link should be removed from the article as IMDB is NOT reliable source (as mentioned in earlier in this Talk Page) it was also reviled as a marketing pitch so why is the Digimon Fusion Battles IMDB STILL in the article?! if all the evidence says Digimon Fusion Battles says that will NOT be the English Dub's name (If there will be an English Dub at all) it needs to be deleted Digifan23 (talk) 04:24, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the dub's name is actually just Digimon Fusion. http://www.worldscreen.com/articles/display/35893 pg 78 of the kids guide. Digifiend (talk) 02:06, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

that site is ALSO unreliable sorry STILL i'm not convecented Digifan23 (talk) 05:48, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Digifan23: Please read WP:Identifying reliable sources and WP:No original research#Primary, secondary and tertiary sources as WorldScreen, as a news organization, is a reliable source. Because of that, since this info comes from Saban and is reliably published, it can be used as a primary source for the info. However, something that can not be said is Digimon Fusion is a dub of Digimon Xros Wars as that would be original research. If a promotional poster or video that shows that Digimon Fusion is Digimon Xros Wars is reliably published, or if a reliable source says Digimon Fusion is Digimon Xros Wars then we can say that. Powergate92Talk 07:11, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

UK[edit]

Could the anonymous idiots who keep adding that the UK will get the Malaysian dub on Disney XD just stop? It's pretty obvious that it'll appear somewhere other than there. Disney doesn't have the rights to Digimon any more. My guess is that we'll be seeing the US dub here, possibly on Kix (which already airs Data Squad). But until we have some news, the UK shouldn't even be mentioned on this article. Digifiend (talk) 23:05, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And don't bother re-adding that BBC Three info either, the BBC rarely buys in anime. They certainly wouldn't do their own dub, and if they did, it would air on CBBC. Digifiend (talk) 15:44, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Digifiend, it's Rangermon from Rangercrew. Fury Diamond confirmed this would air on Nick and Vortexx, so why was that removed? (talk) 16:30, 8 May 2013 (GMT) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.0.78.228 (talk)
Because "Rangermon and Fury Diamond from Rangercrew" don't work at the BBC, DIsney XD or any network; they know just as much as 10 year-old Toby Fields who doesn't give a lick where he sees Digimon until the network that will actually air it starts promoting it. We use reliable sources, which here, only include the networks themselves. Nate (chatter) 01:19, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Digimon Fusion English Dub[edit]

Digimon Fusion had 54 episodes, Digimon Xros Wars has 79 episodes. 25 episodes relating to the final season were never dubbed.1 Doremon764 (talk) 12:59, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The series was incompleted and the episodes were just not dubbed. It's not like the overall series was released in English with a different episode counting, like Dragon Ball Z Kai for example, so I don't think this should be noted in the infobox. Xexerss (talk) 18:23, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was basing off list from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's which had 154 + 1 special (Japanese) 123 (English) and Beyblade: Metal Fury with 52 (Japanese version) 39 (English version). The different episodes listing on their pages (separating the number of English episodes from Japanese episodes). Doremon764 (talk) 00:58, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
