Deletion tag[edit]

The following is a response for a request to delete the Diebold 10xx entry:

If Wikipedia is not a product directory, I suggest removing all product entries, for example, how about the entry for the Apple IIe. Furthermore, if I may ask, what does "product" mean to you? Should we ban all encyclopedic entries of machines or machinery? (posted by User:Rkaupert on article page - moved here by Nuttah68 (talk) 17:27, 19 November 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Wkipedia is not a product directory and is not the place for lists of products with no in depth coverage. If the article can be backed up with independent reliable sources establishing the notability of the product, fair enough. If not, a brief summary should be included at the Diebold article. This however, does still ot include listing multiple variants on a design. Nuttah68 (talk) 17:27, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
