According to the biography on her official web site (http://www.dianeladd.com/frame-bio.html), Diane Ladd was born in 1942 in Laurel, Mississippi. Other sources indicate 1932 in Meridian. Which is correct? I suppose it is possible that the official web site is hDiane's or her agent's attempt to make her appear younger. - Jimwilliams57 22:49, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Trivia: While Ladd appeared in the TV series Alice, which was based on the 1974 film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, in which she also appeared, she did not reprise Flo, the character she played in the film. Instead, she played Belle, a character who was created essentially to replace Flo, when Polly Holliday (who played Flo in the TV series) left star in her own spinoff series, Flo. Both Holliday and Ladd hastened their departures due to a mutual dislike of lead actress Linda Lavin.
- I removed a similar reference to Ladd. TV Guide and a number of other sources did report that Polly Holliday did have trouble on the set with Lavin, but papers at the time said Ladd had a one year contract and wanted to do an outside project. Year of birth
I tend to lean more towards 1942 as her year of birth. She was married to Bruce Dern (b. 1936) and gave birth to Laura Dern in 1967 at age 24. I do not think that she was 4 years older than her husband, although it wouldn't be that uncommon if she gave birth at age 34. Hotwine8 23:54, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
In an episode of Hazel from 1963 Ladd plays a deadbeat cousin of George and Hazel says to her "You're over 30" and the Ladd character replies barely. If she was born in 1932 this would fit. I know it's a TV show and not supposed to dictate her real age and Booth herself hid her real age, but it is something to think about 99.190.228.169 (talk) 20:35, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Bella Bryant
