Possible incorrect identification of the dam[edit]
All the reports I've read say the destroyed dam is in Chamoli District. The dam referred to in this article is a long way from that district. The dam is on a tributary of the Kali not of the Alkananda. Additional reporting (e.g., [1]) refers to additional run-of-the-river dams at Srinagar, Uttarakhand and Rishikesh. I believe the dam which failed is the one referred to as Rishi Ganga-II in this document. Semudobia (talk) 21:01, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
