Needs Revision and Depth[edit]

While it may seem to those that have only seen the Showtime series as if the concept of the "Dark Passenger" being a spirit of some sort as being poorly written or as a left turn from the series, it has in fact been a common theme throughout the literary series for the protagonist, Dexter to question whether or not his own perception of reality via the dark passenger could be considered clairvoyant and/or as if the Passenger itself where some entity separate from himself. Furthermore the criticism section gives no reference and comes across as the individual who edited has added his own opinion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.216.40.233 (talk) 21:54, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whether or not it's poorly-written is subjective, but it is certainly a major left turn. Eerily musing about the possiblity of an unnatural influence is one thing, removing all douobt by having demigods running around possessing people is quite another. It's harldy just people who have only seen the Showtime series that felt this represented a significant departure. Indeed, the unpopularity of Dexter in the Dark is evident in that Dexter by Design abandons the supernatural element completely. It's noteworthy.

The criticism section has been changed to become almost unreadable, including the following sentence fragment:

"...that although the main plot was a let the the sub plot of Dexter teaching Rita's children is a very interesting..."

Yeah ambiguity is one thing but making a silly solution and making it fact is just annoying in fiction. It would be like heroes ending with all the characters finding out that their powers are given to them by jesus or finding out that all the stuff that can't be explained on the MGS series was caused by nanomachines (yes even vamps powers, this is what you get for begging for a sequal for things that should just end) The show has just as many flaws though, dexter claiming to be totally uncaring with no emotion while sticking to a code that he doesn't have to follow.
