Dehkhoda Dictionary InstituteDehkhoda Lexicon Institute & International Center for Persian Studies – Hello, please change the title of "Dehkhoda Dictionary Institute" to "Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute & International Center for Persian Studies". It is the official title on their website: dehkhoda.ut.ac.ir/en Amirrima1 (talk) 12:06, 7 July 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 14:20, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This very famous Iranian institute has long been known as "Dehkhoda Dictionary Institute" (and, especially in recent years, as "Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute"). So, what you mentioned is true, and your request is also reasonable; but, since we usually don't mention long titles on the namespace, let the short title and then the full name be mentioned at the entry, i.e. on the lead. So, I will do some changes on the lead. — Hamid Hassani (talk) 17:35, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. But I saw many times on other pages that they write the full title. But if you insist, then you can change the title to "Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute". But I think the full title is better and it is also common. Amirrima1 (talk) 19:12, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Amirrima1: Since the title you desire moving this article to is a red link and not blue (hyperlink), you can move this yourself. In case you can't move this yourself, click/tap on "Tools" at the right hand corner and click/tap "Move". Enter a commonly recognizable name as Hamid Hassani already stated, enter a brief reason without the URL and click/tap "Move". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Intrisit (talkcontribs) 11:15, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Intrisit: I moved the article as "Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute". Wasn't it more correct to write the full title? Amirrima1 (talk) 21:02, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The WP policies on common and precise names encourages us to use easily identifiable titles for articles; like the "Weltbild Publishing Group" article whose title I shortened to Weltbild as there are none. But let's see where this RM ends up! Intrisit (talk) 16:57, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment/alternative: It should probably be titled consistently with Dehkhoda Dictionary (also known as Dehkhoda Lexicon, albeit apparently less commonly). Instead of the current or proposed titles, I suggest Dehkhoda Institute. It is more concise, unambiguously refers to this, encapsulates both names, and appears to be common (WP:CRITERIA). Here is the graph for Google Ngrams, which shows as many results for "Dehkhoda Institute" as "Dehkhoda Dictionary" (none of which were "Dehkhoda Dictionary Institute", so those results probably just refered to the Dekhhoda dictionary), none for "Dehkhoda Lexicon". (Of course, not all English-language books are sampled in Google Ngrams.) {{replyto|SilverLocust}} (talk) 18:50, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Dehkhoda Institute per SilverLocust. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 14:20, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
