Also his prewar feats in Mexico smack mightily of Didier Masson's actual experiences.

A further note:

My reading of the Early Birds of Aviation reference shows that just about every bit of bragadoccio Lamb spouted either cannot be confirmed or is flat out contradicted. If any article deserves cross-linkage to Baron von Munchausen, this is it.
