Autobiographical & Sycophantic, Luvvie?[edit]

Isn't this article a bit sycophantic?

First... "He started on the lowest step of the ladder and worked in every department as a prop-maker, sound-man, writer, stage sweeper, waiter and tea-maker, putting in 14-hour days, six days a week."

then... "Schofield's distinguished stage career..."

and most contrived... "...student of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, which he left early to pursue his path as a working actor."

It reads like it was written by his agent, a friend, or himself. I do not feel I am reading an objective article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.189.158.235 (talk) 05:59, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see that it's in the least 'sycophantic'. The two statements quoted are straightforward assertions of fact, which could be corrected by someone who knew better. Presumably the person challenging the article's objectivity thinks that the reference to working long hours is boastful, but it may simply be a description of the life of an ordinary assistant stage manager in those days. And if the inverted commas round 'he left early' are intended to suggest that there was something questionable about his departure, some evidence should be produced, surely. I have no connection with the subject of this article and only came to this page because I was surprised that the objectivity of what seemed a perfectly straightforward piece should have been questioned and wanted to see the reasons. I would suggest the query be removed.

Agree with GH: just go and read a few more WP theatrical biographies to see a lot worse. Is there a case for removing the intrusive tag?--217.155.32.221 (talk) 11:26, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nem con removed--217.155.32.221 (talk) 16:09, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Not in the least POV. His career was distinguished, as sources attest, and the others are straightforward statements of fact.  • DP •  {huh?} 18:13, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
