The main external link for Davy O'List and his new group Second Thoughts is the Davy O'List and Second Thoughts fan site http://www.davidolist.talktalk.net Second Thoughts being a time jump from The Thoughts of EmerList Davjak, which was originally conceived by Davy O'List when he formed The Nice. Davy O'List arranged all the songs for the first album and single without any external help. He was also given the job of producing The Nice and the album by Immediate Records as he understood the concept he invented better than anyone else. The EmerList Davjak tab and anagram was conceived by Davy O'List to make the group more well known in the rock world. The anagram notion was then used by ELP who also used his musical concepts.

personal commentary[edit]

I was asked by P.P. Arnold to play guitar for her and sing back up vocals after Any More Than I Do was featured a lot on John Peels's radio show. I named her backing band The Nice wrote Rondo, War and Peace and The Thoughts of EmerList Davjak and took the package to Andrew Oldham who was Pat's manager. Andrew signed me on the strength my ideas were revolutionary. He got Mick Jagger interested in producing the first album but he was really too busy and thought I would do a better job anyway as I understood most what my ideas were about - a fusion of modern rock, pop, jazz, classical, Musicals themes, film effects music, etc., etc. Mick and I remain best friends the same as I am with Ron Wood.

The Attack singles[edit]

The Attack released two singles the first was 'Try It'. The B-side 'We Don't Know' an original composition mainly by O'List was recently turned into an A-side and re-released by Universal Music on several Mod music compilations, which included 'The In Crowd' box set that also featured The Who, James Brown and Georgie Fame. The second single was 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' and its B-side 'Any More Than I Do' was once again re-released as an A-side by Universal Music. This was the side that caught the attention of the media in 1966-67 when John Peel picked it as his radio show theme tune. It was the track that made people aware of Davy O'List he was consequently head hunted by John Mayall and P.P. Arnold.
