Parents[edit]

Changed parents' names to Ezekiel Ogden and Abigail Brandt. No proof has been established for Abigail's maiden name or her parents. The only evidence for the Brandt surname is The Ogden Family in America by William Ogden Wheeler (published 1907), which on p. 171 states that Ezekiel Ogden (1772-1824), son of Joseph Ogden, married Abigail Brandt (1775-1860). No further information on Abigail is given. Various family trees posted on genealogy websites have given her name as Abigail Brandt, Brant, Tichnor, or Tichenor, etc., but without sources for these names.11 Arlington (talk) 23:53, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Darius' "Mohawk" mother[edit]

I have (once again) removed the assertion that Darius A. Ogden's mother Abigail was "believed to have been a Mohawk." I'm descended from Abigail and Ezekiel Ogden and have found no evidence of Abigail's ancestry at all, not even a maiden name, let alone her supposed Native American background. The "citation" someone attached to this article is not a scholarly source but is a web forum post, made back in 1998, by someone seeking information on the Ogden family. It contains several errors (including the assertion that Phoebe Ogden's first marriage ended in divorce--it did not; she was widowed), and is speculation and query, not fact. If anyone does find records relating to Ezekiel and Abigail, I'll be thrilled to read them. 11 Arlington (talk) 18:16, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
