bad link in article[edit]

in article on dan dequille, in legacy section, second paragraph, there is mention of contemporary humorist "captain jack downing" but that link goes to a person who was born around 1941, and so is clearly not contemporary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.95.101.175 (talk) 15:50, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the catch on this bad link. In searching for a better wikilink I found another problem. The list of contemporary humorists came from the cited source "Topics of the Week: Changing Humor", New York Times, 03/21/1920. It cited "Captain Jack Downing". From the context, I believe the article should have read "Major Jack Downing", a fictional commentator or pseudonym of Seba Smith. So I've changed the link to "Major Jack Downing" which already redirects to Seba Smith. Ronald W Wise (talk) 01:27, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
