Bad reference[edit]

The link to the Bloomberg article is broken. Anyone know of a similar reference? I'm looking but haven't found anything yet. KLP (talk) 02:51, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect category[edit]

Creditkarma does not provide credit monitoring, they provide credit scores. I adjusted.

Credit Karma does provide free credit monitoring as of January 2012. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Runboo (talkcontribs) 19:56, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional content[edit]

@Vowedrose: you reverted my edit to re-add promotional content. Do you have any relationship to the articles subject? Jtbobwaysf (talk) 04:07, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've partially reverted your edit to re-add information about its tax filing service. The information about this is particularly relevant given the announcement of a buyout by a competitor in that field. djr13 (talk) 08:47, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think intuit provides tax service, just because its parent does doesnt give justification to include on this site. Seems to be one source with a Lim interview that mentions the tax service. I deleted the dribble about how many returns they filed, etc. Dont re-add content without proper sources, blogs are not ok and neither is the credit carma website (in case it was you who added that). Jtbobwaysf (talk) 19:48, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I did add one reference sourced to the company, merely to support the statement that they do not participate in the Free File Alliance. Per WP:PRIMARY, "A primary source may be used on Wikipedia only to make straightforward, descriptive statements of facts that can be verified by any educated person with access to the primary source but without further, specialized knowledge." At the time, I was unable to find reputable secondary sources stating this fact (mostly "advice" blogs), but I've seen some prominent articles discussing this fact following the buyout announcement. I'll add one of those. djr13 (talk) 06:28, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Wire723: i reverted your edit as it appeared promotional. A company blog is not a WP:RS. Thanks! Jtbobwaysf (talk) 20:04, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Jtbobwaysf: Thanks for keeping watch for self-promotion - my attitude is the same and I've reverted a good number of PR changes in other articles. I think you are mistaken here: my source was the Which? site which is an independent organisation here in the UK. --Wire723 (talk) 08:26, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Wire723: maybe i was over ambitious in my revert :-) Please feel free to add it again. Sorry about that! This article has so much junk inserted, that i added it to my watchlist a while back. Jtbobwaysf (talk) 19:15, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Acquisition[edit]

The article should reflect that Intuit entered a deal to purchase Credit Karma. Reference: https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2020-02-24/turbotax-maker-intuit-buying-credit-karma

An editor added this to the intro in February. More changes needed when the deal completes. --Wire723 (talk) 08:18, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
