Please include a more detailed definition[edit]
The page currently appears to discuss how CTOD relates to other measures, and starts with a bold and inappropriate statement that LEFM is not valid (under what circumstances, one might ask). What it should, but does not yet, do is define in a detailed fashion what CTOD actually IS. In precise terms, how it is it defined? The lead is fairly scattered. May I suggest the following as a starting point for future edits:
In ductile materials, deformation occurs before cracks form. Crack Tip Opening Displacement or CTOD is the width of the deformed region that gives rise to a crack.
