Peacock words[edit]

Here is the BBC link to the offending statement. Perhaps this description (or derivation of) less offends?

This sequence of peat domes (also known as Tregaron Bog) developed on the floodplain of the Afon (River) Teifi in mid-Wales now represents the most intact surviving example in the UK of a raised bog landscape.

Because photo captions in English Wikipedia should be in English, per WP:UE and WP:CAP - this is not a place name, but a description of a photograph, which should be understandable to English-speaking readers. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:01, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
