Image in Teen Idol section

Hi, I recently put back the Dream a Little Dream image as opposed to the image for his promotional video. I believe the DALD image is more relevent as it is representative of the section, which talks about his popularity as well as his success with Feldman. Also, being one of his three main films, its fairly important. The Me, Myself and I video had a tiny audience and the picture is rather fuzzzy. That and the fact that there are already 2 other screenshots would make it difficult to keep. It is also not that appropriate in that only a few sentnaces are talked about that particular video, details of his drug problem are mainly in the section after. This particular paragraph mainly talks about him at the height of his success, in particular with Feldman. The DALD picture is a promotional one so that makes it easier. The use of too many images was brought up during a peer review. Now all three images there have a rationale attached to them so they can be considered fair use. Feel free to discuss. Victoria Beckham

I was reading Victoria Beckham's autobiography (oh, leave me alone, it's a good book), and in it she mentions a relationship with him, where he had random bursts of anger and gigantic mood swings. Lost Boys 2

Detailed discussion of the Lost Boys 2 project would be best placed on the Lost Boys 2 page -- not on Corey Haim's page. He is shown filming Lost Boys 2 in the 2 Corey's show in A&E. So, I assume since he was seen filming on national TV that it's pretty apparent he did appear in the film.

He was dropped from the film for being unable to remember his lines and being an overall liability. This can be seen both on the Lost Boys 2: The Tribe page and on the TV Series The Two Coreys. Haim's emotional reaction to the news that he wasn't initially in Lost Boys 2, and the subsequent botched filming of his cameo as shown in The Two Coreys seemed a mark of his decline in the last years of his life, leading as it did to Feldman's intervention and a bust-up of their relationship, so I included a brief note about it. He has often remarked in the press how much he loved the original Lost Boys, and was shown bouncing ideas around for the sequel, so I thought this was relevant and worthwhile. TMZ is reporting that law enforcement sources say pill bottles retrieved in the apartment of Haim's mother are hydrocodone (Vicodin), diazepam (Valium), haloperidol (an antipsychotic med) and Soma (a muscle relaxer). Shortly there will be reliable sources that will state what we can say. The major news outlets will start confirming details surrounding the autopsy. There's no rush to put low quality sources in the article. Discussions are noted as 'chat' and or in Wiki terms 'talk'. Reactions coming from smoeone such as Feldman would add to the article. No one can add sources in an article without finding reactions of those close to him. This helps by allowing people to find that information. If you have nothing to add, then please leave. ANYHOW, the only reaction is from radaronline of his mom Judy stating he was living with her because she was battling cancer and wanted to take care of her. If you can't express a coherent thought in English, then please leave. I think what you are trying to say is that legitimate discussions are not chat (although clearly that is not easy to discern from what you wrote). If that is the case, you missed the point (not at all surprising). If there are legitimate sources for reactions from celebrities, and if no one objects to their being added to the article, then why do these reactions need to be "discussed" here? The usual procedure is to wait for something to be added to the article, then if someone has a problem with it, it needs to be discussed here. I fail to see any purpose in adding the information here, unless it is to circumvent Wikipedia's disdain for useless trivia by placing it here instead of in the article, which is exactly what has happened below. I love how people resort to IP addresses and want to argue over the smallest of things. I never said the reactions would be added to the article, I mearly stated I would like to know what reactions from other celebrities are occuring. Please refer to MJ for "chat" that has many topics that would never even make the article. I'd caution against adding a list of random "wow, shocking" or "so young, so sad" type reactions which are standard reactions when someone dies. Have added the two Twitter quotes discussed here, along with an (astute) quote from Nicole Eggert on the public response to give weight to the inclusions rather than rendering them as 'chat'. It seems worthwhile to acknowledge that there was a substantial public response to Haim's death, and to give examples of this.

Sexual abuse?

In the series The Two Coreys it was mentioned by both Corey Haim and Corey Feldman that they were sexually abused by industry representatives, and that this played some part in their drug use. Should this be included in the main article? Artemisboy (talk) 18:33, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

No worries. It's a term that's probably interchangeable with data entry. One clue to why it's an unfamiliar term is the date of that Toronto Star article - 1985 - twenty-five years ago. Current picture

I checked Flickr for another freely licensed photo (i.e. one of Haim is in hey-dey) but the only freely licensed ones are simply different angles from the same day that the one we are using was taken. You could try finding one on Flickr and asking the person to relicense it as cc to allow commercial/derivative reuse. –xeno^talk 13:48, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

"Comeback" section

Comeback para 5: Feldman stated his refusal to have further contacts with Haim until he recovered from his addiction. Having read the ref, I am unsure Feldman refused all contacts with Haim. Personal life

Online sources state that they were engaged. No-one has submitted a source to this article or talk page that states her claim of never having been engaged to him. In that 11 March 2010 interview, she said that they dated for a few years, that he proposed to her, she accepted his ring, but she doesn't consider herself to have been engaged to him. Whether this is relevant to the article I'm not sure, but Corey states in a video Victoria Beckham cheated on him when they were dating. Half-brother

He does have a half-brother as this has been mentioned by many articles, however he was never really close with his dad, so there is probably no information in regards to him and his brother, unlike him and his sister being close. AcePuppy (talk) 03:20, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

On The Arsenio Hall Show in 1989 in which Corey talks about having been clean from drugs for 2 weeks he is 17 on this show, Corey sends out a hello to his sister in Canada, a best friend, his Dad and his new half brother Daniel Lee as his parents divorced in the last year. This interview is available on youtube. Last residence

Sources are unclear and contradictory regarding whether the apartment he shared with his mother at the end of his life was his, hers or both theirs. We know it is rented, and I take it that mother still lives there. Was it his and mother moved in with him, hers and he moved in with her, or did they take up the tenancy together? New additions

I'm a bit concerned about the wording in some of the newly added content. There were, and still are, some fairly flowery descriptive content that is not supported by sources. We can't simply add a description of his facial expressions, or an impression of his persona, unless it is present in sources. That qualifies as POV and isn't acceptable. In a further attempt to regain his wholesome image, Haim set up a pre-recorded drug advice line for teens: 1-800 C-O-R-E-Y. Great caution must be taken when using YouTube. In general, most things posted there, such as the Arsenio Hall clip, are copyrighted and we cannot use YouTube to source. There is a template to use for TV episodes {{cite episode}} but the particulars need to be added in for that specific episode. Also, in passing, I've been cleaning up reference citations. Please be aware that rather than using the year for the date, you shuld use the parameter date=, and the full month, day and year should be used. Also be aware that when using publisher=, that would refer to webpages with no markup for italics around the page name, while the parameter work= should be used for print media such as magazines and newspapers, even if you are linking to an online version of that work. I will use full date work= from now on - was not intentional or lazy, just unaware! Will add the specifics of the Arsenio episode according to your advice. Thanks very much for the clean-up, am also aiming to clean-up the references over the next couple of days as many are duplicated in the list.

On another note, I've been loath to add any info about the abuse Haim allegedly suffered at 14 as stated by him on The Two Coreys, as all the references aside from his own words are so tenuous. It seems an important detail (whether or not it can be proven to be true), but most of the press coverage revolves around people speculating that the culprit was Michael Jackson (or Joel Schumacher). After Haim's death, Nicole Eggert said in an interview that she knew who it was and would confront them. However someone will no doubt will add this soon, and I wondered whether starting it in a measured way with careful wording was the way to go. I know there has been a little discussion on this issue earlier on this page. Do you have any views?

I did combine some of the sources, at least two or three. You don't necessarily have to use an elaborate ref name, just one that identifies the source, like ref name=engaged or ref name=destitute. I assumed that you didn't know about the date and work= thing, so I thought I'd tell you here. No problem. As for the allegations of abuse, I'm not certain that it needs to be mentioned at all, since there is little to support it outside of Haim's own words. If it does go in, it plainly needs to be presented as abuse allegations and not as a fact. Having said that, under no circumstances should alleged perpetrators be mentioned. There is nothing to support that and in at least the case of Schumacher, WP:BLP would apply - without definitive proof, it would expose the encyclopedia to libel charges, I would think. I'm more thinking of a brief sentence and quote to touch on it so that someone looking for the info won't think it has been omitted -- as the alleged abuse seems significant in its impact on Haim by all accounts. More citation comments

I came across several references to an article on Filmbug. Unfortunately, it can't be used because the article on that site is a direct mirror of the article here. Using it would effectively mean we are citing this article as a source for this article. Also, there is no need to use the italics markup at all in the citations. The work= automatically italicizes that work and the publisher= should not be italicized. Also, so you'll know, when you use the "ref name=" after the first time, you need only add <"ref name=name/> and you can omit the rest of the reference itself. It will automatically group all the same named references. And don't forget to space directly after each reference, don't run the next sentence into the ref. Hi there, yes, when I came across Filmbug I did notice that the article bore resemblances, particularly at the beginning. Sadly it would seem that the person who started the Wiki article lifted directly from Filmbug. I had changed some of the existing Wiki wording in response, and can do more work on this. There are some good details on Filmbug, and it's obviously well-researched and/or close to the subject (haven't seen dates of Haim's rehabs anywhere else, for instance)

I understand the issue perfectly. Might you allow me the opportunity to change the Wiki wording so that there is no reflection? The Wiki article has developed so substantially now (with some well-chosen details from Filmbug, whose citations are quite embedded).

Filmbug lifted their article from here, that's what is meant by the GNU FDL at the bottom, it says that it uses material from the completely unsourced Wikipedia article "Corey Haim" as of the December 23, 2005 version of the article. They can do this so long as they credit Wikipedia for their article, which they have. It cannot be used as a source in references here, that is circular referencing. Rewording won't help, valid sources that support what was supported by that copy of this article need to be found. Filmbug can't be used. Absolutely fine, will find other sources for the text asap. But just to explain, I only started working on this page ten days ago and sourced some info from Filmbug (bankruptcy details etc) - it wasn't on here before. So perhaps they lifted the framework/text of the Wikipedia page in 2005, but it certainly wasn't a 'mirror' when I first started working on it. Anyway, onward and upward. Cindy Guyer is speaking forward regarding there relationship and the actor's death and how she and others saw it coming [9]. About sources

There were several sources added today that do not meet the requirements for reliable sources. teenidols4you.com is not considered a reliable source. Neither are fast-rewind.com, or x-entertainment (although it was added to replace a reliable source of The Guardian) and hollyscoop.com is not the Toronto Sun. It was the first reference in the lead that was dead per Checklinks. I tried to retrieve it from the wayback machine but the Washington Post blocks the robots.txt file, so it's impossible. The LA Times and KTLA are both quoting the coroner's report confirming it was pneumonia and not drugs. I added two sentences to that effect with sourcing. Photographs

I'd been looking for some time for some free images of Haim to accompany this article. Someone has added two from 2008 from Flickr, one of which duplicates the main photo as it was taken at the same event. I had seen these before but desisted from adding them as they are of poor quality and don't add anything. I think having three photos from the same period as the only photos in the article unbalance it somewhat, and would advocate the removal of at least one - the one showing Haim in the grey coat. Find a Grave link

On 10 March 2011, I added a link to Corey Haim's entry on www.findagrave.com. On 11 March 2011, user Moxy undid the revision, citing "rv of no value." A link to a Find A Grave entry can be found in the article of nearly every deceased actor of Haim's stature. User Moxy had previously (26 February 2011) removed the Find a Grave link, citing Wikipedia:External links/Perennial websites, however nothing there indicates that a Find a Grave entry is forbidden. Noting the overwhelming presence of Find a Grave links among the articles on deceased actors, I believe it should remain in this article. Her photos are used on his Official pages one on my space and the other on his main web site here - I can assure you Caroline Lagace who is attributed to the photo at Find a grave is not Deidhra Fahey. That said this can be fixed by reported to info@findagrave.com with a link to the relevant page or image so it can be removed. Image in Teen Idol section

Hi, I recently put back the Dream a Little Dream image as opposed to the image for his promotional video. I believe the DALD image is more relevent as it is representative of the section, which talks about his popularity as well as his success with Feldman. Also, being one of his three main films, its fairly important. The Me, Myself and I video had a tiny audience and the picture is rather fuzzzy. That and the fact that there are already 2 other screenshots would make it difficult to keep. It is also not that appropriate in that only a few sentnaces are talked about that particular video, details of his drug problem are mainly in the section after. This particular paragraph mainly talks about him at the height of his success, in particular with Feldman. The DALD picture is a promotional one so that makes it easier. The use of too many images was brought up during a peer review. Now all three images there have a rationale attached to them so they can be considered fair use. Feel free to discuss. He is shown filming Lost Boys 2 in the 2 Corey's show in A&E. So, I assume since he was seen filming on national TV that it's pretty apparent he did appear in the film.

He was dropped from the film for being unable to remember his lines and being an overall liability. This can be seen both on the Lost Boys 2: The Tribe page and on the TV Series The Two Coreys.
