Bishopric[edit]

The article defines a Constitutional Bishop (inaccurately), not a Constitutional Bishopric, as it claims. A bishopric was a diocese. A Constitutional Bishopric was a territory, coterminous with a new "department", created by the French National Assembly, that was erected by the French State, without reference to the Canon Law of the Roman Catholic Church. It was schismatic.
