Prosaic truth

Although the Confederacy never had tons of Gold, it did manage to collect Gold from a few Yank payroll troops. Two such payloads were lost/hidden by the Yank payroll troops during delivery in the area of "Bean's Ferry", South of current Fulton, Ms. This lost treasure was hidden underground near a large oak, said the delivery dispatch, because of nearing Confederate Troops. Upon return to the area, the Yankee Payload Delivery team could not find where they hid the loot. This "lost treasure" was thought to be hearsay/legend until the 1980's excavation of the area near where said loot was buried for the construction of the Tenn-Tom Waterway. The bull-dozier driver, whom I will not mention his name, pushed over a large Oak tree. Another worker said the dozier driver climbed out of his machine and rounded to the front to observe a medium size lock-box. The dozier driver then retrieved his pickup truck to the site, and with help from one other worker loaded the locked box.. It was said that he told all that the box was full of tools, but I know different, I went to see the coins with a buyer, in private. The box was over half full of gold and silver coins. The gold coins were in near perfect shape, but the silver coins were very damaged. 2018 FBI finds KGC in PA

Looks like the north got their gold back. And they are a little stingy about paying out the recovery fee, which may or may not have been paid. A sizable recovery fee is warranted for diehards who kept the story alive and brought the US treasury a lot of gold.
