This article is about AHLTA and should be moved to that page. MUMPS is a hierarchical database not relational.

If you look in wikipedia, it tells you all about MUMPS. It is a programming language developed especially for hospitals. It uses pointers to navigate through the tables in the databases. It is a very efficient in saving space and only creates space in the files as needed. Some patient's file would be very small and others could be very large depending on how may visits, prescriptions, x-rays, etc.24.94.90.51 07:43, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AHLTA VS CHCS VS MUMPS[edit]

Hello all - this page should not be renamed or moved to an AHLTA page because CHCS is not AHLTA. AHLTA is a new system that "interfaces" with the legacy CHCS system. At some point the legacy CHCS system will not be avilable to end users but this entry in wikipedia is intended to describe the legacy CHCS system.

MUMPS is the programming language used to implement the legacy CHCS system and is therefore mentioned in this entry Akuma624 (talk) 20:54, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the article on CHCS?[edit]

For a system which was sold to the military by SAIC, at the cost billions of dollars, based on software which the VA already paid for, which takes weeks to train people to get started, this is a very short article.

The article about AHLTA has no primary sources, nor is there any about CHCS for that matter.
