Removing the sentence which states that Colrain once again refers to itself at "Coleraine", as this is not true. Several years ago the Colrain Historical Society commissioned three wooden painted signs at the edges of the village of Colrain City which say "welcome to Old Coleraine", however, the town government and all town natives know the town as "Colrain." Founding of Colrain[edit]

I've just found reference to Colrain being founded - though not settled - by a group from Roxbury and/or Boston. The guy I'm looking at was Ebenezer Seaver of Roxbury, and he owned at least 500 acres in Colrain. It would take someone more knowledgeable than me to add this information properly, but it would be worth adding.

  • I just added Francis M. Thompson to the notable list. He wrote the History of Greenfield. His mother had ancient New England heritage, including Henry Adams. Francis' great-grandfather had been born in Coleraine, Ireland. The family of his great-grandmother were were into 'Boston Township No. 2' which is Colrain. jmswtlk (talk) 01:15, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
