Yes, the shops are called colliers. Hampton Roads exports large quantities fromn loading facilities at Newport News and Lamberts Point in Norfolk, Virginia. Vaoverland 09:19, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rather incomplete[edit]

Even with more about how these places worked, and direct mention of Curtis Bay, this has a strong Virginia-outbound bias. We need material on how the coal is received at the other end, and mention of other important/pioneering facilties. Mangoe 17:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
