Notability tag[edit]

This page was reviewed and tagged as potentially not meeting Wikipedia's notability guidelines, which state that a topic must have "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" where reliable sources include "mainstream newspaper articles, non-vanity books, magazines, scholarly journals, television and radio documentaries, etc. – sources with editorial oversight and a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy". The citations for this article indicate that this organization has received coverage in multiple articles in scholarly journals and scholarly books. I think the review might have noticed the low coverage in newspaper articles, which are a more common source of notability, and missed the significant coverage in scholarly sources, which are a rarer source of notability but still acceptable per the guidelines (and appropriate for a scholarly society). If anyone would like to comment further about this tag, feel free; otherwise if there is no further justification of the tag I will remove it in a week. --Gretchenmcc (talk) 01:28, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one has commented with further explanation, I am deleting the notability flag (and also the "unreviewed" flag since receiving the notability flag in the first place was part of the review process). --Gretchenmcc (talk) 17:22, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
