Attendance[edit]

@Netherzone @CT55555 pinging two of my favorite art related editors. I have a slight COI here and while I think I can probably make these edits, I'm erring on the side of caution. I'm bypassing ER since it's hopelessly backlogged and this isn't in a clean format, but if this is something you're not able to/interested in, absolutely no worries and I'll put it in the queue.

I think this article would benefit from a little context indicating the population it has served through its exhibits and public programming, perhaps in Climate_Museum#Exhibitions_and_arts_initiatives or if there's an intro that contextualizes exhibits/public/youth programming sections. I think this article or this one could be helpful, especially the 105K in audience. There is a little in each from the museum director, but I do believe it's independent content and both publications use writers.

Separately, I feel that Climate_Museum#Panel discussions and dialogue events could probably go, I"m not sure they're notable and I'm not able to find any sourcing that isn't just an event listing. If you wanted to amend the last sentence of exhibits, their site (not advocating as a source, just confirmation of facts) has the date for the new exhibit. Unfortunately this part doesn't confirm that the 2022 one closed. I'll see if I can find a source with an end date.

Thoughts? Thanks either way! Star Mississippi 01:14, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Star Mississippi, thanks for the ping. I will have a look at the article in the next few days. I'm really surprised I've never heard of this museum. Looking forward to learning more about it. Netherzone (talk) 01:45, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! And absolutely no rush whatsoever.
They have a fascinating story and have done really interesting work in this time where, sadly, climate is all too relevant. Star Mississippi 01:59, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dropping a link to an article about the new exhibit in lieu of the museum's site if you decide that's worth including. It references "last year" for the closed exhibit which should be sufficient if you decide to cite the sentence about the prior exhibit. Star Mississippi 21:40, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will wait until after the show opens on Oct. 7 to make the edit. Netherzone (talk) 00:13, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did a little clean up and added two sources and content on the new exhibit. Netherzone (talk) 15:20, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Star Mississippi, I continued with clean up of excessive detail and promotionally-toned content. Will go back and proofread, or if you have the time, it would be great to have another set of eyes. I am also wondering if the "Governance and Funding" section is needed. Do we normally list the trustees in museum articles? I'm also wondering if the funding belongs somewhere else in the article, or is necessary to include. Netherzone (talk) 20:14, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you again.
It looks great. I feel like there might be a word missing here In October 2023, presented the pop-up and that's one I'd feel comfortable making despite the slight COI, but didn't want to step on your toes if there's particular wording you had in mind.
I personally don't think government & finance is sneeded. The Candid rating does not appear particularly notable, and the governance and funding are true of many museums. I feel like if a reader is curious about any of that, such as if they're evaluating making a donation, they'd research it on their own. Star Mississippi 15:28, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please make any sentence structure, grammar or spelling corrections. I'm not a great writer and sometimes write "inside out" or "forwards backwards" sentences. I'm visually oriented and struggle with wording things correctly. I'll go ahead and trim the governance/finance section. Netherzone (talk) 17:07, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I made the edit, but there really wasn't anything to change. You did an excellent job. I feel comfortable in some areas, but if I'm writing in an unfamiliar subject area I feel as if I'm not a native speaker.
PS: Why yes, I did just learn WikiLove. Star Mississippi 17:26, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just disclosing I made an edit. It's factual on address and artist so don't think there's an issue. Feel free to remove if you don't think it fits. Star Mississippi 15:49, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy to help out with edit requests should they be necessary. Netherzone (talk) 14:36, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
